Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the team access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can anticipate learning which adventurers will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
